As far as I am aware you are in transit and not working and therefore not liable for the tax.

But different companies and different tax advisors say different things!

Where should I go from here?

Then I would suggest you need to get practical qualifications and experience on your CV or you have very little chance with the thousands of people out there right now all after a handful of jobs.

Degrees do not teach the practical skills required to maintain the equipment, they do not teach you how to solder, splice cables, repair leaking hydraulic connectors, etc.

Haha IV Offshore - Cowboys sending out incompetent unqualified chimps...

We have had a few clump weights recently, the current one is from Luanda and is on £380/day, cant put a nut on a bolt but thinks he's ideal for the job because he has a "degree" in "fianance" from his "local university".....

Can't fly can't tech, no building blocks for progressing, rockstar wages and claims he's a sub eng lol...........

Thats IV Ofshore for you - lowering the standard altogether...........

Chaps, whilst it is interesting reading about being in the ROV recruiting business and having learnt the industry in a year Rolling Eyes can I suggest that we resume the original topic....

What I'm after is rates, company names, you know, the kind of dross that we end up chuckling at and having to file under 'B'.

Feel free to post any interesting emails that you receive.

Tnx,
T-B

Hi,

Just seen this video on youtube, interested in your comments if in your view this sort of behaviour is acceptable. This was a supervisor and subeng doing the flying, note the pipe tracker during this debacle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edomZnRtu-Q

It amazes me that they not only seem proud enough to film it, but to publish to the outside world?????
