There is nothing you can do other than keep calling, emailing, sending your CV out to parts of the world that are busy right now.

It's occurred to me that you may find lack of interest party down to your nationality (any nationality in fact) whereby companies are more reluctant these days to arrange for work permits outside your own country of Nationality. More countries seem to require work permits for working offshore these days.

Careful what you say........

At least you have the experience to do this James , and quite right too ! Very Happy
It's the Guys with hardly any experience that go freelance ( Because they were sacked for justifiable reasons or not ) and 'wing it' that causes problems in the ranks ! :/ ............... They 'Wing it ' so long ....... they then think they know what they are doing ! Shocked

Boskalis are an impressive company ,, the ROV division is small, but very well run and they do take care of staff welfare ,and equipment and jobs are well planned and executed ,,unlike FUGRO ,,,,,, the only downside is that Boskalis are also rampant cost cutters and love to drive down all costs including rates ,,,,, they are good to work for but you wont get top money.

I think they smell blood in the water and believe they can make a difference with thier efficient managment and cost control to make increasing profits and garner a bigger piece of the pie ...

i would not bet against them .

Too many agencies jumping on the ROV bandwagon over recent years. Any downturn will weed them out for sure.

Am I a pilot? A trainee? Or neither?

I'm fairly new myself. just a year of this under my belt but I gotta say don't apply for trainee slots. That paper you got doesn't mean a thing but I'd Apply for junior tech positions and they'll more than likely throw you into a trainee position. you have 3 hitches under you which shows you don't mind the being gone and have some idea what the work involves.
as far as the english goes. ...
I have no idea. I'd say come to the gulf and develop a cajun accent and you'll be pushed up the chain regardless of skills.
best of luck keep us in the loop on your career.

As things will be worse next year I think your going to find allot more of the agency's doing the same thing in a desperate attempt to find personnel .
As we all know there are to many agency's all chasing the same projects and the same personnel .
I think this is getting a bit off track from my original topic so best I start a new Topic under the Header " Desperate Agency's "

Cheers

Desperate Agency's ! The Begining of the End

As I am sure you all agree over the past few months we have seen a very large increase of activity from certain agency's flooding the internet with its requirements , This will not work however it just shows how desperate they are .

As for the agency's sending out all these fake job requirements even there learning since with there requirement they now have a disclaimer .

DISCLAIMER
Due to the fast-paced nature of the industry in which we work, we endeavour to provide our clients’ with the contractor they require in the shortest timeframe possible. We aim to keep our live jobs as up to date as possible however there may be occasions that the job you are viewing is no longer available. For a discussion about currently available roles, please contact us.

The problem by sending out all these fake jobs no body is going to know in the future if its a real job or just one more fake !

Agency staff need more experience on computers as its clear some have no idea when sending out a requirement they send out there full contacts
list , I think I have over 1500 rov personnel maybe I should start up my agency !

Agency's have been around for a long time and there are some good ones out there , like Hydrosub and PR Offshore these guys have been going a very long time so they must be doing some thing right .The Rov industry is a very small world and news travels fast now days on social media .

But I think 2015 is going to be very slow year with few Rov requirements and the requirements that are there most of it will be staff and not free lance.

Cheers

True.

Already knew this from several years back already.
What they, amongst others are probably doing is nailing the client-s extra monies over the festive season as well and then telling folk it is not evident at the end of the day, they then pocket the monies themselves.

Expose all these vermon so it is out and about and is known.

Do not by any means rob monies off of the senior service.

All respect has been lost and either these critters are to be shut down in the whole entirety or boycotting is the general order of the day.
