For your apprentices certs to be recognized in the industry the Company or Academy needs to be a fully paid up member of IMCA . All the requirements are on the IMCA web site in PDF format or you can have a chat with chris.baldwin@imca-int.com he will confirm this .
Other wise the whole thing is wide open to misuse .

Looks like a cool little piece of kit. You might want to contact Mike at m-are to help you sell it. I also suggest you put the price on your advert with all the inclusions.

Do you remember if it was a Microstrain AHRS? Those sensors need to be re-calibrated periodically.
In the end, if the compass is the only problem it can be replaced with a better brand.

I fully agree with you Ray regarding any Rov course or apprenticeship , IMCA do not certify or endorse any certification or training company. I think a few weeks back on this forum Chris Baldwin did state this however I think only IMCA members can carry out competence assessments other wise any body could do it , When the person has finished there apprenticeship / training course he will be assessed and graded , All this can be found on the IMCA web site under " Who can do Rov assessments "
IMCA lay down the set standards other wise it would be a total free for all . In fact what would be the point of joining IMCA if you look at most of the schools and academy's there all IMCA members .
I think anybody starting to train others should be audited on there training standards which in this case is IMCA which is why I think Chewy should contact IMCA to clarify .Its all down to the client but with the current recession its not going to matter that much plus if MTCS has there way if you have not worked for over a year at your current grade you need to be re-assessed which is £350 or to be assessed by a current or past employer who is a IMCA member .

Open ROV 2.8 Brand New 85% built
I got this as a present and spent about the last 20 hours building it. When time for final assembly I realized the 25 pin connector that attaches to the harness was glued in backwards on the plate. I don't feel like/have time for re-ordering the pieces to re-glue/wire that part of the build so I'm going to cut my losses.
Was $900.00+tax USD for the kit, you will most likely need to re-order that piece to re-glue the right direction.
$600.00 USD anyone?

Bluey ROV For Sale in Great Shape!

I am selling my Bluey ROV which is fully functional and in great shape!
It has the original remote control and even the original bag!
I was planning on updating it with new digital camera, led light, stronger thrusters and new remote control but do not have the time.
It is very heavy duty, it has a 50 meter tether and would be a great project to update and have a great ROV!
I bought it from a guy at a US Navy Diver Training Base and it appears to have been barely used!
I am asking $2,750.00 (paypal Accepted) it is located in Miami, Florida USA 33125.
I tried to post some photos but can't get them to upload right now.
